Is there a way to add layer names as text from the python script....difficult to make sense out of tuples in the klayout window and need to look at the mappings....
I can see that right click provides a rename option...

@Shubham Kumar There are layer mapping tables for each process. You can search for 
*.lyt
files in the pdk (
$PDK_ROOT/$PDK/libs.tech/klayout/tech/sky130A.lyt
). In klayout, 
File
-> 
Load Layer Properties
to load the file.

I can see https://github.com/idea-fasoc/OpenFASOC/blob/main/install_tech.py .... is it meant for the same....i.e. setting up klayout properly...
