, top curve is for Vg=1.8V, then next curve is for Vg=1.6V and so on down to 0. X axis is the drain voltage. I don't think a short channel device can sustain for a long time Vd=1.8V and Vg=1.8V at the same time, however digital logic switches between full-off and full-on states with these current peaks. 100uA/um seems a safe current level.
