Perhaps your docker daemon isn't running?
n
it is, I checked it !
n
yes I just tried it, still the same error
b
did u complete "make setup" first? your first post was about make setup but this image is related to make user_proj_example
n
no I did not, I am still getting the 2 errors for the "make setup" step! I
I just wanted to try and go ahead to the next step and see if i can ignore these 2 errors, but yeah it is not working
b
ok, I got the same error and the soln in the link worked for me, maybe you forgot to log out and then log in?
n
I am using a Virtual Machine on an M1 Chip iMac, I did turned off the VM and run it again!
m
sudo chmod 666 /var/run/docker.sock, it will solve this problem
n
just tried it, did not work for me
Update for future reference " I solved this issue by downloading volare dependencies"
m
@Nader Alnatsheh Volare has nothing to do with docker and docker’s permission. It is a PDK package manager. So if you solved the docker issue with Volare… that's pretty much odd.
n
All I did was following the error and installing volare, and it worked for me !
m
As you mentioned the Volare solved your OpenLane’s issue which is pretty much clear as it didn't find the TCL file in PDK directory. But I think you ignored docker’s permission issue or suddenly solved it by executing the “chmod” command. BTW congrats 🎉🥳

Yeah maybe! thank you, I'm glad it worked at the end 😅
