and didn't bring up an error (and they're the default size from the openframe example IIRC). So is there like an exemptiong for PDN rings ?

Normally, metal width for metal tracks is for DRC rules. After a given width, you must make slots into the tracks. The real limitation for metal width is really metal density. What I don't know is if the slots are made automatically.

Yeah, the doc says it would need slotting, but I'm guessing that must be done automatically by skywater because even the final OAS after the tapeout job doesn't have any slots and some of the
