Is the sweep feature explained in the documentation? Is this the "x-axis variable name"?

By default the sweep variable is the first variable in the raw file (if you leave that box empty) . Time for transient, frequency for AC, etc.
You can use another variable if you set the name there.
However in some cases you get weird graphs, for example if the sweep variable you chose is not monotonical, or does not change

for example this image  shows a butterfly diagram for a cmos latch, V(A) vs V(Z) and V(Z) vs V(A)
