@Xiaochen Ni could you release these images with a license? like a creative commons?
πŸ‘€ 1
these are among the best micrographs I've seen of the MPW silicon
does anyone know what the 'grain' is on the top metal?

I've added some photos to the github here, if that works: https://github.com/harryxni/TopMetalSe-OpenMPW6/tree/main/Photos

can you add a license?
if you add a file with the github UI called LICENSE, it will help you create one
x
okay, I've added one hopefully it should work

thanks!

Hey @Xiaochen Ni, for any of the bare dies you've received so far and inspected, do you know whether your passivation cuts worked for your electrode pads? i.e. are they exposed and conductive?
x
Yes, we believe we have exposed pads. I should probably do a full write up on our testing to share for the community, but I'm sharing two slides about a test we did to answer this question. Hope it makes sense out of context, but the basic idea is that our project is a charge-sensing pixel array and we were able to sense charge landing on our exposed electrodes (our pixels). Of course, there's also a chance that maybe we are just seeing AC coupling through some passivation...and we are working on a way to test that idea. But, I'd say these results + the fact that the color on our electrodes is the same color as the metal bondpads is a fairly good sign

Oh wow, this is great to see @Xiaochen Ni ! I look forward to more info. And these samples are from your actual chip (MPW6, 7, or CI in this case)? @Matt Venn might be interested in this too
x
These are from our ChipIgnite 2206Q tapeout. I can also prepare and share a few additional slides (or some other writeup) sharing our results, as they have been going pretty well. The testing of our MPW7 is still underway

Excellent πŸ™‚ I was reading up on TopMetalSe, and I'm glad to hear you're getting good results. Whatever you're prepared to share I think will be great to see. Very few people I think have published these sorts of results or details, so I'm grateful that you are.

great work!
