Does anyone know wether the riscv controller on the caravan chip behaves similar to the caraval controller? I can only find the datatsheet for the caraval chip and not for the caravan. For my SNN design I need to know the smallest clock period of the riscv to create a controller handshake protocol.

Yes, the Caravel and Caravan chips have exactly the same SoC. The SoC core is officially rated at 25MHz across all corners/conditions. If you aren't trying to go to production with your design, then you can overclock it substantially. For a nominal part under nominal conditions, I was able to get the processor to run reliably up to 60MHz, and I could get even more range out of it by raising the 1.8V supply.
