Hi there. I've completed the precheck part in my shuttle submission. Now I begin to start the tape-out part. So normally, does the tapeout part take longer time than the precheck part or vice-versa? The precheck took me about more than 1 hour, then how long should the tapeout part take to complete?

The tapeout jobs consists of 1. creating the user id 2. setting the gpio defaults 3. integrating everything into caravel 4. generating fill shapes 5. integrating everything into caravel_<user_id> Steps 1-3 shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes. Generating fill shapes probably takes longer. The entire design is read and shapes are generated on several layers.

I guess there’s a 6th step that drc checks the final layout. Yes, I imagine that will take a while (2-3 hours?).

Seems like so, the tapeout process already took ~ 2 hours since it started running. And it is still at step 4/6 BEOL check. It is quite stressful right now for us to see if we can make it 🫠
