Good Evening, My name is Vraj Prajapati, I am currently a second year Engineering Science student at the University of Toronto. I've been super willing to learn more about ASIC design and how I can get more involved with the SkyWater foundry and creating my own systems. I'm currently directing a team of undergraduate students in creating a Spiking Neural Network system and we were interested in creating a quasi-neuromorphic CMOS SNN ASIC that could be used for accelerated inference. While I am familiar with the high level implementation of these systems I would love to glean expertise from the talented folk on this slack about anything related to this vast field. I have also been referred to the Zero to ASIC course but I'm not necessarily able to pay the entrance fee to complete this course. Any advice? All help is super appreciated. Thank you so much and nice to meet you, Vraj Prajapati

Vraj, The barrier to starting to run the tools is low. And zero to Asic really can take you from zero to asic, With your background I'd suggest going to the Efabless website and clicking on the getting started link. There is no cost to get started. No NDA. No requirements to be part of a company. This is 100% open source. https://efabless.com/getting-started You'll be designing in the flow in no time at all. If you are looking for an exceptional CNN example the winner of the last Gen AI contest has great materials posted and shows a complete flow from Python to RTL. https://github.com/Baungarten-CINVESTAV/AI_by_AI If you want to manufacture your design keep your eyes and ears open for the next Open Source MPW shuttle....where if you win the submission lottery you can manufacture for free. The forum exists to ask and answer questions so as soon as you have any issue please feel free to ask a question. Good Luck.
