Thanks for making this channel @Philipp Gühring! I've seen some scattered discussion about photodiodes in various channels, but it'll be nice to have a dedicated spot for the discussion

Dear all, my PhD student (Mingzheng Duan) in collaboration with Prof Amine Bermak (my long-term research collaborator, expert in Analog IC design and CMOS image sensors; he published a long list of research papers about CMOS image sensors on IEEE Explorer) at HKUST has successfully used standard 180nm CMOS foundry process of TSMC/UMC/Global Foundries to make the array of photodiodes integrated with readout circuit as the CMOS image sensor for detection of bacteria (optical biosensor). However, my lab has never used Skywater 130nm CMOS process. Ref: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/abstract/document/9180738

My research lab at HKUST has been working on a list of CMOS sensors (especially thermal MEMS: thermal flow sensor, thermal accelerometer, thermal gyro, CMOS image sensor/photodiode, CMOS ISFET sensor) using TSMC 180nm CMOS/UMC 180nm CMOS MEMS/Global Foundries 180nm CMOS process) + HKUST NFF clean room for post-CMOS fabrication processes. However, my lab has never used Skywater 130nm CMOS foundry process. I would like to know more about Skywater 130nm CMOS process. Thanks!
